Kamui allows the space-time transportation of objects to a personal dimension. Overall, the technique works as shown in canon and the wiki. Non-Rinnegan or Kamui based space-time cannot escape the dimension.

Both eyes will never be united unless for absolute death for the eyes. The basis of the awakening of these powerful eyes is the resolve of Obito and how he was central to the plot.

Non-intangibility based transport to and from the dimension occurs only at jounin speed with exceptions below. Both eyes uniting together during absolute impending death can increase the speed to bijuu. Bijuu speed is used for the intangibility, touching others with hands, and when both eyes act together.

The long-ranged Kamui is countered by the close-range when used beyond the size of a normal person. Connecting to another dimension requires bijuu-level chakra. Returning from the afterlife as a spirit requires having been a Juubi Jinchuuriki like Hagoromo.

Intangibility leaves an image of the person behind that has connected senses. Intangibility is limited to 5 meters of movement from where intangibility was initiated, as otherwise Obito could have just ran from Konan. "5 minutes" in canon is never relevant past the Konan fight and minutes don't translate. So, on here the intangibility can only last 3 posts at a time that aren't necessarily more or less 5 minutes. The 5 minute limit isn't clear to disable Kamui, but here you can simply activate Kamui again although if you're inside a solid or killable hazard you're dead.

The long-range eye only can transport the user on blindness and after having fought the other eye's user.

Sensing space-time changes and chakra build-up is possible. Kamui users can emerge from anywhere they've been or to a chakra signature if they have sensory. Senses connect from a place the user chooses before they fully emerge from their dimension, to prevent telefragging. Intangibility telefragging can still occur. No matter what emerging from Kamui if not using intangibility the user can't be harmed that post. The same post they can't control their body, nor can what they're bringing along, until teleporting emerges away from obstacle.
